A Busy, Busy Week...

...but Oh, it was SO MUCH FUN!!! Here's the recap...

Goofing around at breakfast...hard-boiled eggs are the girls current fave

Dance class at the park with Ms. Michelle....the girls are LOVING this!

NB Pier @ sunset...the girls love to walk along the "bridge" and see if the fishermen have caught anything.

Getting crafty...with paper...for the girls' first non-family birthday party!

Even managed to put together some cute hair clips...sorry the pics are blurry

Princess Aiden and Reilly the frog...they got a kick out of this!

Can I just tell you that this was the most A.DOR.ABLE birthday party ever? It was the perfect backyard carnival, complete with lemonade stand, fishing booth, bounce house, chalk drawing blocks, face painting, and a fun little tiki playhouse...not to mention, scrumptious food and fabulous company!! I tell you what...I know who to call if I decide to do a bday party for the girls (T - you have been dubbed the Queen of Party Planning...thanks for such a super-fun time!!)

Yosemite Anyone?

Doug ended up going on a spur-of-the-moment camping trip last week to Yosemite Park with his best bud Clint. The girls were pretty bummed about not having him home for 4 days/4 nights, but it was good for him to get some time away. He hiked a LOT - I think it was something like 7 miles his first day and I don't remember how long the rest of the trails were - and he even had to deal with snow...in JUNE!! He had a really great time and already thinks he's Mr. Mountain Man after his first excursion in who knows how long...watch out Bear Grylls, here comes Papa Doug!!

Anyway, here are some photos from his great woodland adventure...

The three amigos turned into 4 when they befriended this daring little one-eyed squirrel...poor little guy!

Conversations to Remember....

Roo: Perched along the back of the couch (like a cat) "So, Momma...what do you want to do tomorrow?"

Me: I'm not sure Roo, what would you like to do?

Roo: Tapping finger to chin "Ummm....How about we laugh? Laughing is good. Yeah - I reary think we should laugh...and play. That would be such a WON-derful day."

...............................................................................................................

Aiden: "Mom, I want papa to go to work."

Me: "You want him to go to work?"

Aiden: "Yes - I like it when he goes to work. Work and jiu jitsu....but not camping. I don't like him camping."

Roo: "I reary don't like him camping. He can't tell us stories when he's camping."

Aiden: "Yeah...that's why I want him to go to work. He can go to work and go to jiu jitsu and the he can come home and tell us stories."

Roo: "That's sounds like a GOOD idea."

This came about while Doug was in Yosemite last week with Clint...the girls missed him terribly

...............................................................................................................

Roo: "Momma?!"

Me: "Yes Reilly, what is it?"

Roo: "I'm really sorry I didn't listen today. Tantrums aren't good, are they?"

Me: "It's okay, hun. I'm sorry I got upset with you. Losing my temper wasn't a good thing to do either."

Roo: "Yeah...it really broke my heart!"

Me: "I'm sorry kiddo. I didn't mean to break your heart."

Roo: "It's okay momma, don't worry about it. My heart is all better now. It's fixed. I love you."

Me: "Thanks Reilly. I love you too."
