Chop! Chop!

About a month or so ago, we decided it was time to take the girls in for a haircut. And, since most people have a hard time telling the two apart, I decided to have each of their hair cut in a different style. Reilly had about 4 inches cut off and Aiden had about 6 1/2 inches cut off...Roo liked it until she saw that Aiden's was shorter and she kept saying "Mom...my hair isn't short enough."   I figured she would forget about in a day or two and not think twice about having longer hair.

Well...I was wrong. Today, the girls decided to play a game of "chop! chop!"...which basically entailed taking my kitchen sheers, hiding in their tent that we had made earlier this morning, and chopping almost ALL of Reilly's hair off. Needless to say, I wasn't as excited as the girls were at the outcome of their "game"...it meant we had to go off to the salon to have Roo's hair evened out (I am terrified of taking scissors to anyone's hair...based on previous traumatic experiences). An hour and twenty-five bucks later, Roo's hair cut was complete...short, sweet, and done. She's not quite sure if she likes it or not...it's bugging her that she can't tuck her hair behind her ears anymore.

But, that's enough of my rambling...here are all the before/after/then/now shots of the girls and their stylish new hair cuts. What do you think?

Aiden (L) and Reilly (R) pre-haircuts

Aiden (L) and Reilly (R) post-haircuts (obviously - they didn't want to cooperate with the camera)

Reilly after her game of "Chop! Chop!" I will admit that Aiden did a pretty good job of snipping Roo's locks...much better than I probably could have done on my own. With the exception of one little super short patch in the back of Reilly's head, most of the hair was cut pretty evenly...especially for a 4 year-old.

And....Roo's new do once the hair stylist was done

What can I say? Never a dull moment with these two...never.

September Recap...

September was a pretty low-key month for us...aside from a short trip to Arizona for some family time and a jiu jitsu tournament, we basically just stayed around the house and enjoyed days in the yard, riding bikes, reading books, and hanging out. Here are some photos from our pretty chill month...

Reilly and Aiden - riding bikes in the driveway

Baby Bear, Reilly, and Aiden - Hanging out in the yard, listening to some tunes...

Doug - In-house Jiu Jitsu Tournament
Doug won this match by points (way to go!) and all-in-all it was a great day. Many thanks to my wonderful sisters-in-law Bethany and Becky, Doug and I got to drive down to Tucson for the tournament without the girls. Not the ideal place to vacay, but it was nice having an afternoon to ourselves.

And that about sums up our adventure-less month!
