Scrap Haps...

Well, it's the last day of the month...which means it's time for me to share all the pages I've scrapped in the past few weeks. Surprisingly, I got a little bit of mojo back and was able to complete some pretty fun pages. I hope you enjoy seeing my latest scrapbook creations!! Oh, and if you're dying to know what kits I used on a particular page, you can click on the image for full credits...

So Excited...

I finally did it...I gave in and ordered some absolutely fantastic fabric from The Fat Quarter Shop. Of course by the time I finally got around to it, the designs I wanted were almost all gone...but I went ahead and grabbed what I could figuring I could make a nice blanket (or something) for the baby.  Is it sad that seeing the fabric swatches inside one tiny little envelope made my day THAT much better?!

The above swatch is a peek at the colors/patterns I am planning on for the baby's room/space/alcove ...whatever you want to call it. Stay tuned in the weeks to come as we continue to get ready for the newest member of our family!

La Playa...in January?

So, what's a person to do when Mother Nature decides to bless you with a crystal clear, blue-skied day...an average temperature of 77 degrees...and perfect waves to boot? Why, take the day and play at the beach, of course...which is exactly what the four of us decided to do today. The hours of the day were filled with lots of sand-digging, surfing, crab-walking, squishy hunting (a.k.a. sea anenomes), shell-digging, and all sorts of beach mayhem...as you can see in the photos below...

Needless to say, today was a VERY good day for all of us.

Fro-yo Anyone?

Question...what does a 5 year-old girl wear on a date to get frozen yogurt with her mom? Scarf...snow hat...sweatshirt...ugg-like boots? If the 5 year-old happens to be named Aiden or Reilly, then you wear all the items mentioned above....just so you don't get cold while eating your scrumptious treat.

Park Days...

Even though it's only January, the days have already started warming up giving the girls and I the perfect excuse to turn an ordinary afternoon into a park day. It was hard to snap photos of the girls while in action, but I did manage to get a couple while they were emptying the sand out of their shoes...

Who would have thought a simple day at the park could make two little girls so incredibly happy?

Things That Go Scratch In The Night...

We had been hearing a really creepy scratching noise from underneath the floorboards, so we called our landlord and he arranged to have an exterminator come to the house. Imagine our surprise when we found this little critter in the trap outside our kitchen window just a few days later....

The girls were very concerned about the possum...they wanted to put a blanket over the cage and feed it and give it a name so we could keep it as a pet. I didn't have the heart to tell the girls what would happen to the little thing...does it make me a horrible mother if I told them the possum was going home to be with his/her other possum buddies?

Scrap Haps

What can I say? I guess I haven't been in much of a scrapping mood these past few months...I feel bad because it really is a hobby that I love, but there has been so much going on that I simply haven't been able to concentrate. That being said, I have managed to get a few pages done and figured I might as well share them with you now. Enjoy!

Good-bye 2010...

Let's see...we started the year off without a home...and now we finished it without a job. A rough start, a rocky ending...but I would be ungrateful if I didn't admit there was a lot of good in the months between. We found a great rental house in a wonderful neighborhood, moved into an absolutely fabulous ward, made new friends and reconnected with old ones, saw the girls grow healthier and stronger and more delightful with each passing day. We have grown together as a family, worked together to strengthen that special bond. We were surprised with the news that a little baby girl will join our family in May 2011. Our lives have been blessed more than I could have imagined, and while I don't know what this next year will bring I have faith that 2011 will bring more blessings to our little family. I am excited, nervous, indifferent, anxious...and ready to face whatever the new year has in store for me, Doug, and the girls.
